Employment ResourcesThe Baltimore County Department of Aging, the Community College of Baltimore County, and the Baltimore County Office of Workforce Development are working together to create an opportunity for individuals to enhance their career development and goals of life-long learning at Expo. Both days of Expo as part of our Enrichment Fair, there will be career development seminars on-going from 9 - 11a.m. on the Living Life stage. The opportunity will allow for resume improvement, online job search tips, interviewing techniques, individual career coaching and more. Further, within the Enrichment Fair, there will be volunteer opportunities and educational options to discover. It is a proven fact that volunteering and further education are great for your resume and a positive way to develop new job skills. Many exhibitors will be highlighting their volunteer opportunities for you to find one of interest. Local educational institutions will also be on site to detail their programs. Senior Job Seekers can find further information about job seeking services through Baltimore County Office of Workforce Development. The Baltimore County Department of Aging's Senior Employment office administers the Senior Community Service Employment Program. This program provides community service employment opportunities to income-eligible Baltimore County residents, age 55 and older. Participants earn minimum wage while training in the community for government and non-profit agencies. The goal of SCSEP is to provide work experience and on-the-job training to improve the individual’s skills and thus enhance their ability to obtain an unsubsidized job. |
