Joanne Williams, Director of the Department of Aging.

On behalf of the Baltimore County Department of Aging, I want to truly thank everyone that contributed to another successful Senior Expo/ Baby Boomer Expo. Almost 10,000 seniors, baby boomers, professionals and caregivers came out to the Timonium Fairgrounds to “get the red carpet treatment.”

The Department of Aging was very proud to be part of Baltimore County’s 350th Anniversary celebration. At the event, we premiered a movie commemorating Baltimore County’s rich film history.

Those that attended were delighted by the new, fun theme and enjoyed dancing to music from our many celebrity impersonators, as well as cheering on their favorite Senior Idol contestant.

Expo was a lot of fun, but many seniors were also able to receive valuable resources or participate in health screenings. Seasonal flu shots were administered to hundreds on both days of Expo in the 4-H Building.

Other popular attractions included our Booming Senior Center area, the Volunteer Fair and the 55+ Re-Hirement Job Fair.

The Senior Expo always provides a great opportunity for our department to treat the seniors like stars. We hope that you will frequent this website and come back for more information as we plan for Expo 2010.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Joanne Williams
Director
