County Executive Jim Smith

Welcome to Baltimore County’s Senior Expo/ Baby Boomer Expo 2010 web site! Thank you for coming aboard for “One Ship: Many Destinations.” I hope you take a journey and travel to the Timonium Fairgrounds on October 6 and 7.

Expo is a great opportunity to highlight many of the businesses and County agencies that support seniors. Led by the Department of Aging, Expo brings you the latest services, products and information. I hope you take advantage of all that Expo has to offer, whether it is collecting resources for a loved one, getting your flu shot early or participating in a contest.

For the first time, the Department of Aging is hosting the Ship-Shape Silent/ Live Auction on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. I hope you plan to bid on items throughout the day and to attend the auction to see the winners and enjoy refreshments and tropical entertainment.

All proceeds from the auction, as well as the event as a whole, benefit the Fund for Needy Seniors, which provides emergency assistance to Baltimore County seniors. By attending this event, you have already shown your support.

I want to thank the dedicated and hard-working team from the Department of Aging for their work in putting together this event. I am also grateful for all of the support from the exhibitors and media and corporate sponsors.

Bon voyage!

Sincerely,

Jim Smith's signature
